God’s Promise of The Messiah Fulfilled in Jesus Christ

Jesus is Born!

This Christmas, I have been reminded again how God promised the world that He would send His Son, Jesus, as a perfect sacrifice for the sins of those who believe on Him.  Over 2000 years ago, God did send forth His Son, Jesus, to fulfill this promise.  Jesus is God’s gift to mankind.  Let’s celebrate this Christmas by thanking God for sending Jesus as He promised.

John 3:16 sums up the Gospel: “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”  Then John 3:17 goes on to say, “For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.”  My friends, this Son of God is the Christ-child that was born that night in Bethlehem over 2000 years ago, just as the Bible tells us.

In going through some papers that I have saved from years gone by, I found this editorial that was written by my daughter when she was a senior in high school and the editor of her school paper. She entitled the editorial as “An Unbroken Promise”. I would like to share this editorial with you as part of this post.

An Unbroken Promise

Merry Christmas and Blessings in the New Year!

THE GIFT

The people walking in darkness have seen a great light;

on those living in the land of deep darkness, a light has dawned.

 ~ Isaiah 9:2

Seven hundred years before Jesus Christ was born in Bethlehem, Isaiah prophesied in Isaiah 7:14 that Jesus would be born of a virgin: “Therefore the Lord Himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call His Name Immanuel.”

Over 2000 years ago, Luke records the fulfillment of Isaiah’s prophesy in Luke 1:26, 27, 30, and 31: “And in the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God unto a city of Galilee named Nazareth, To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph of the house of David; and the virgin’s name was Mary…….. And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary; for thou hast found favor with God. And behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shall call his name JESUS.”

The Christmas story of Jesus is true, as recorded in the Bible. The Bible is the inerrant Word of God. As Christians, the reason we celebrate Christmas is because Jesus, the Messiah, the Savior of World, was born and was God’s gift to the darkness of this world. Glory to the Newborn King!

God’s gift to you is Jesus, the Messiah, for anyone who would believe in Him. John 3:16 sums up this gift and the Gospel of Jesus Christ: “For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” The gift of Jesus is there for you to receive. He is a free gift. My prayer is that, if you don’t know this Jesus, you would come to the knowledge of the truth of Jesus Christ.
